Advocare...

In Carrollton, Texas there is a MLM company by the name of Advocare that seems to be a bit of a mystery company. Advocare was established in 1992 by man named Charles E. Ragus who promised that he held the key to “changing people’s lives”. They specialize in nutrition and weight loss products. There major product is “Spark” which they claim is used by many notable athletes. None of these claims have ever been confirmed so there is not any credibility behind these statements. There are suspicions that in all these years they have not actually changed any of the formulas for the products, only changed the packaging.

Advocare is a unique MLM company based on the fact that they do not use the internet for any part of their business. When searching for this company online many have been unsuccessful in coming up with anything that is substantial. One of their methods for recruiting new members is by making direct sales with them. If you buy more that $500 worth of products they will send you a packet containing marketing tools and try convincing you to join their team. In order to make a substantial amount of money, you have to put in a lot of hours and sell a lot of product.

In all of Advocare's statements they make it clear that they are endorsed by over 500 sports franchises. According to their claims the NFL, NBA, MNBA, and even Olympic athletes are using their supplements to stay fit. There has been no evidence to support these statements but they swear them to be true. One distributor even claimed that Ted Berratt used Advocare products to help him get through the baseball season in 2000. Many are skeptical of this allegation and have questioned the credibility of this company based on it being stated.

Reviews for Advocare's products have not been pleasant. They are said to be quite pricey and not work as stated in the descriptions. To make a bad thing worse, there have been reports on long term side effects for several of their diet products. In my opinion, this company does not bring anything beneficial to the table so they aren’t really worth looking into.
